Stephen joined the global business and technology consultancy, formed from KPMG, in the financial services sector, as a manager, specialising in Process & Content Management.

He was responsible for and involved in a wide range of consulting assignments covering business, architecture and IM strategies, risk management and governance, effectiveness and efficiency studies, outsourcing technology studies, development methods and service management.

  • As Chief Innovation Architect and Delivery Manager, created a development method for managing the convergence of content and CARIS HPD geospatial data through the use of DITA using a specialist toolset for the UK Hydrographics Office. The extensive approach involved sprint phases to achieve key design goals so that a requirement could be formulated to transform their £100m paper product business into digital ready products for a number of platforms.
  • Developed a method for producing dynamic shipping channel routes using bathymetry profiles as well as automatically geo-tagged harbour images
  • Carried out extensive market assessment in a highly regulated environment for digital product development and platform delivery across a global market
  • The Chief Solutions and Business Architect for the £22m programme at the Governments Rural Payments Agency Land Register Data Refresh Project, managing a complex multiplicity of stakeholder, migration strategies, application system interfaces and intercepting projects to achieve an update in customer organisation and geographical information systems over a 18 month period.
  • Developed and delivered an architectural and migration blueprint for GI data involving an Arc/ESRI implementation, moving to an eSpatial product set using an array of techniques and products e.g. Safe FME.
  • Integration Architect for £7m programme in assuring business rules and multiple supplier liaison to a successful implementation.
  • Developed a diagnostic and performance tool engagement methodology for a financial institution that resolved some key network and application performance issues.
  • Programme managed a multi-million pound internet re-development, including SEO, analytics and Content Management for a global billion dollar operation at Hilton. Brought together disparate development and operation teams from Europe and the US, reducing cultural entrenchment and assisting executive team to manage and enhance communications, improve realistic technology planning and build a sustainable delivery and service organization based on a single global brand.
  • Carried out a key feasibility study for a Foundation Trust Hospital South London & Maudsley Hospital on retention and enhancement of national services balancing business process enhancement with appropriate use of technology. Proved a process to protect and improve commissioning revenues in a competitive care option geography in London.

Stephen has been instrumental in establishing, qualifying and bringing a number of technology partnerships to market. He has also been instrumental in presenting the BearingPoint IM product suites at conferences and clients.
