As a senior consultant, Stephen worked in the Consultancy Services Group of this global DBMS vendor where his main focus was the development of the Object-Relational methodology linked to its Universal Server product.
He was engaged in a number of assignments working in the UK and Europe:
- data warehouse implementation for Pizza Hut;
- component tracking client/server project management, migration, design and analysis in component tracking on UNIX and Windows 95 in a distributed and mobile architecture for Benetton Formula 1;
- database administration process development, audit and performance tuning for 24×7 production system at Siemens Microelectronics;
- object/relational design and scoping for multi-layered and 3D analysis for the Swedish Weather Bureau SHMI;
- initial design/business case development of an intranet based research and information management system for SmithKline Beecham;
- migration management for Hobsons Publishing;
- prototype internet based financial analysis for Standard Chartered Bank;
- client/server development methodology for Naval Aeronautical Materials Laboratory.
Stephen also designed and developed the DataBlade Developer Certification Program at Informix for the Universal Server product, providing marketing and business mechanisms for its successful implementation in the US.
