As a software engineer, on graduation, Stephen moved to the systems house arm of BT (now Syntegra), where he successfully formulated the call billing algorithm for BT\’s new service \”AccountCall\” (now known as ChargeCard), based on the Tandem fault-tolerant architecture. His work also included support of all the office and mainframe systems within the Brighton Systems Centre, which during this time achieved quality certification to BS5750 (ISO9000). He also worked on PC based inter-business Financial Reconciliation Systems.
