Cathay Pacific

4 D Concepts carried out business information analysis and formulated a distributed architecture and strategy for Cathay Pacific Airways. This project involved RAD techniques for building a fully functional database application for CPA\’s engineering maintenance stations around the world, acknowledging  differing customs regulation, bonded stores, requisition management, shelf-life and local procurement procedures. The prime benefit of the analysis was to supplement the work of the central MIS services but with a focus on meeting user requirements.

Following initial support help for database working, 4 D Concepts was commissioned to develop and deploy an out-station bonded stores management system.

4 D Concepts developed the T_LIB library for this purpose for use in the dBASE DOS products. This allowed easy maintenance and support. The system rolled out to Paris CDG for initial viability testing and prototyping and model office before Cathay Pacific picked up the requirements process to develop their own system.

4 D Concepts worked in Hong Kong and Paris extensively with Cathay Pacific staff.
